The Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) offers a Certificate in Cosplay Creation Techniques, which aims to equip students with profession-specific knowledge and tailoring skills for unique costume pieces in the construction of total appearance image costume styles; and nurture students with costume making techniques, professional work and learning attitude, and further develop costume design portfolio to be applied in different business contexts.

Both certificates have the same entry requirements:
normal applicants

- Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese languages, or equivalent; or
- Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or higher, including English and Chinese languages, or their equivalent; or
- Completion of a QF Level 3 program approved by the respective Program Board; or
- Relevant RPL qualifications at QF Level 3 or higher and pass the entrance assessment, which can be taken orally or in writing; or
- Other verifiable prior learning and/or relevant work experience that is approved by the respective Program Board and passes the entrance evaluation, which can be done orally or in writing.
(b) Applicants must have at least one year of relevant work experience.
(c) Applicants with basic knowledge of fashion image style are preferred.

Older applicants, those 21 and older, will need at least two years of relevant work experience. Applicants may be required to pass an entrance assessment, which can be done orally or in writing.
