The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Spy x Family is finally here, but what date and time will Episode 2 release worldwide on Crunchyroll?
The spring anime streaming slate is gathering steam, with most of the new series making their domestic and international debuts last week.
From Rising of the Shield Hero and Kaguya-Sama, to Skeleton Knight in Another World and Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie; there are plenty of fantastic anime to get stuck into.
Arguably the biggest series on the new slate, though, is the co-production of Tatsuya Endo’s hit manga Spy x Family. The show made its debut last weekend to a fabulous global reception, but what date and time will Spy x Family Episode 2 be released worldwide?

Spy x Family episode 2: Release date and time confirmed
Spy x Family Episode 2 is scheduled to premiere both domestically in Japan and internationally for online streaming on Saturday, April 16.the.
The new anime adaptation airs earlier than anywhere else on Japanese television networks TXN. The series is then simulcast for fans in South and Southeast Asia with Muse Communication, and fans outside of Asia can stream the show via the Crunchyroll platform.
As confirmed by the Crunchyroll series page, Spy x Family Episode 2 will be released at the following international timeslots:
- Pacific Time: 8:30 a.m. PDT
- Eastern Time: 11:30 a.m. m. WBS
- British Time: 4:30pm BST
- European time: 17:30 CEST
- India Time: 9pm IST
- Philippines time: 23:30 PHT
- Australia Time: 1am ACST (April 17)
The first three episodes will be available to stream on Crunchyroll for free as part of their seasonal sampler template. However, any episode that premieres after April 31St. It won’t be available for free viewing, so it’s important to stay up to date with the latest episodes if you’re not already a Crunchyroll subscriber.

How many episodes will season 1 have?
This week, Japanese website Spy x Family confirmed the scheduled Blu-Ray DVD releases for Season 1 of the new anime title. It was revealed that six total DVD volumes will be released over the next year, with the final volume confirmed to include up to the 25th episode.
However, Spy x Family Season 1 will release those 25 total episodes in two separate courses, i.e. three-month seasonal programming blocks. In simple terms, the first part of Spy x Family season 1 will have 12 episodes (from April to June), and the second part will have 13 more episodes later in the year.
A release window for the second part of season 1 has not been officially confirmed yet, but the anime is expected to return in the fall (October to December) streaming slate.

- Volume 3: Episodes 9-12, November 16the 2022

Spy x Family was arguably the most anticipated new anime series on the spring streaming list. Fortunately, the debut episode met and in many ways even exceeded all expectations set by the global community.
After just one episode, the series scores an impressive 9.1/10 on IMDB and 9.00/10 on MyAnimeList. Interestingly, the MyAnimeList score has been aggregated from over 61,000 individual reviews, making it the highest rated and most reviewed anime on the new board!
In fact, all the reviews on IMDB so far are positive and are titled: “Fun and well-paced pilot”, “Ngl, this was quite unique”, “Fire” and “Anya cute!!!” . Additionally, the show has been popping up on Google Trends every day since last Friday, with fans all over the world desperate to know all about the new show.

The original Spy x Family manga series began serialization in March 2019, and as of April 16, 2022, nine total Tankobon volumes have been published in Japan.
Unfortunately, only seven of those volumes have been published in English by Viz Media. The good news is that there has never been a better time to become addicted to manga.
