DC’s mightiest hero, Doctor Fate, gets a unique new look in an epic cosplay that brings the magical hero to life.
When it comes to who is the most powerful hero in the DC Comics universe, there aren’t many characters stronger than destiny doctor. In an epic cosplay from @burnsbillcosplay, the powerful magic user gets a unique new costume that brings together some of the best elements of his iconic look, creating a version of Doctor Fate that has rarely looked better.
Doctor Fate is one of DC Comics’ oldest heroes, as the original version of the powerful magic user first debuted in more funny comics #55 in 1940 by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman. Kent Nelson gained his powers from Nabu, working as an avatar of the Lords of Order to fight threats across the universe. Several people have taken up the mantle of Doctor Fate by wearing the Helmet of Fate, Cloak of Fate, and the Amulet of Anubis since Nelson, most famously the current bearer, Khalid Nassour. Thanks to his magical powers, Doctor Fate is considered the most powerful hero in the entire DC Universe. Fate has regularly worked alongside the Justice League and is an active member of the Justice League Dark magical superteam.
On his Instagram account, cosplayer @burnsbillcosplay shared his unique take on Doctor Fate, giving the magical hero a whole new look. The look maintains the most iconic features of the powerful DC Comics character. But, cosplay introduces new elements that add to them. Doctor Fate retains his iconic helmet (inspired by the one he appeared in Injustice) but he gets a much more detailed Cloak of Fate that is darker with intricate stitching. Additionally, Anubis’s amulet looks more colorful than ever, while various seemingly Egyptian details are added. The look is undeniably Doctor Fate, but it’s also super unique.
The Doctor Fate cosplay comes on the heels of DC’s mightiest hero making his live-action debut in the DCEU in the upcoming black adam movie. Kent Nelson will be played by legendary actor Pierce Brosnan, who in the little bits that have been released ahead of the movie so far, seems like the perfect person to play the character. It’s exciting for Doctor Fate to get a higher profile outside of the comics.
Doctor Fate has had a handful of iconic looks in the comics, so @burnsbillcosplay could have gone down many different paths when creating the cosplay. Finally, he did something unique by combining versions of the character’s costumes and adding various unique details. In the end, he managed to bring in DC Comics’ mightiest hero, destiny doctorto life in a stunning ensemble.
