Jamie Lee Curtis said she planned to officiate her daughter’s cosplay wedding dressed as a video game character on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The 63-year-old actress wearing a magenta outfit told Jimmy that she was going to officiate her transgender daughter Ruby’s wedding dressed as Jaina Proudmoore, a popular character in World of Warcraft.
Jamie Lee said that Ruby and her fiancé chose her costume. She said that she was very excited about the cosplay wedding, but there was a little problem. A seamstress in Russia was sewing the suit she had ordered and paid for in advance for the May wedding.

“Her name is Jaina Proudmoore,” Jamie Lee said of her cosplay outfit. ‘It’s a game. She is an admiral. So I went on Etsy and typed in ”Jaina Proudmoore Costume” and a woman came up who had the costume. I said great. You know, we exchange communication.
I paid him a good sum of money for this and everything is going very well. I sent you my measurements. Everything was going well until a month, two or three weeks ago, I received an email from her. She said there may be a delay in shipping the costume. I said, “Okay, okay, a week or two is okay,” the actress continued.
Jamie Lee said: ‘The costume comes from Russia. She is a seamstress in Russia who is making my daughter’s cosplay wedding outfit.
Jimmy said, ‘Well, she better let you know.’

Jamie Lee said, ‘Well, I hope you’ll get it to me.’ But Jamie said ‘there’s a bit of a problem with the supply chain and things are a bit behind now, have you seen in the port, all those ships?’
Jimmy said there was a war going on too, but there were a lot of people in costumes outside his Hollywood studio and he could trade a six-pack for one.

Jimmy asked Jamie Lee what exactly was involved in having a cosplay wedding.
“That means you wear a costume and dress up as something,” said Jamie Lee. “Everyone at the wedding is going to be in costume and I’m going to be in costume to officiate the wedding.”
Jimmy asked if there was a theme.

Jamie Lee shared that “both of my children will have gotten married in my backyard, which brings tears to my eyes.”
“And it’s a lot cheaper on the patio,” Jimmy joked.

Jamie Lee also shared that she had recently started taking drum lessons from a woman on Instagram named Dorothea Taylor.
“She’s a fantastic drummer,” said Jamie. “She’s in her mid-sixties and my friend, John Stamos, who’s a real drummer, is cheering me on as my cheerleader best friend.”

Jimmy asked if John had offered to teach him how to play the drums himself.
“Yeah, he’s a fantastic human being,” Jamie said.
“So dreamy and smells like shampoo,” Jimmy joked.
