A talented cosplayer donned the Noob Saibot suit, bringing the mighty Mortal Kombat fighter for life.

Reddit user u/ember_phantom brought the ninja-turned-wraith from the Netherrealm with his terrifying rendition of the Mortal Kombat character. Covered from head to toe in rags of black cloth, dirty armor, an intimidating mask, and of course, a giant sickle. The cosplayer wrote, “I’m super excited with how it turned out!”

Inspired by the character’s last appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, appears to have taken various alternative gear options from Noob Saibot’s wardrobe to create a unique iteration for the cosplayer. From the claw-like fingertips to the dangling bone trinkets and every nasty detail in between, the costume is top quality.

Originally a member of the secret clan known as the Lin Kuei, Noob Saibot was a human warrior named Bi-Han. He had the nickname Sub-Zero before passing the title to his brother Kuai Liang. Before his death, Bi-Han possessed incredible control over the power of ice and could turn living creatures into frozen statues, form frozen weapons, and even project blasts of frozen energy. Following his demise at the end of a Mortal Kombat tournament, he was sent to the bowels of the Netherrealm before being resurrected by the demonic necromancer Quan Chi.

Now a specter stripped of all previous humanity, the creature known as Noob Saibot is evil incarnate. In his current form, Noob uses shadows and the powers of darkness to fight his opponents. Able to teleport through shadow portals and create shadow constructs, he is an elusive fighter who relies on overwhelming his enemies before landing the final blow with his menacing sickle.

First appearing as a secret opponent in Mortal Kombat 2, the wraith that dances with the shadows would become a playable character in future games. Most recently appeared in 2019 Mortal Kombat 11, the latest installment in the bloody series. What is notable about the character is that he has appeared with very altered faces between games. Where he originally appeared as a skull beneath his mask, more recent appearances show his face with withered skin.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
