Sailor Moon dons the costume of Marvel’s Moon Knight in an epic new piece of fan art that celebrates both the anime and the new Disney+ series.
A creative superhero fanatic has merged the magical worlds of Naoko Takeuchi. sailor moon and the Marvel Cinematic Universe moon knightcreating “the crossover no one asked for”.
The image, which was posted on Twitter by Mingjue professional production designer Helen Chen, shows Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon wearing an outfit reminiscent of Marc Spector/Moon Knight’s super suit. Usagi’s long white cape and iconic blonde hair flutter in the foreground, while a bright crescent moon appears in the background. According to Chen, this merger is “the only thing I think of when I see Moon Knight.“
Based on the character created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, moon knight premiered on March 30 and is the sixth television series of the MCU. The show stars Oscar Isaac as the titular hero, who is a mercenary who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. Other members of the case include May Calamawy, Ethan Hawke and Karim El-Hakim. The show’s creative team includes writer Jeremy Slater (the umbrella academy), director of photography Andrew Droz Palermo (the green knight) and director Mohamed Diab.
Moon Knight’The story is heavily rooted in ancient Egyptian culture, and those involved have made an active effort to stay as historically and mythologically accurate as possible. This careful attention to detail is notable in the wake of Diab’s criticisms of DC comic book movies, including wonder Woman 1984, for its inaccurate representations of the country and its culture.

The story follows high school student Usagi and her friends as they fight against villains and prevent the destruction of the universe as the Sailor Guardians. The manga has a devoted following; Over 35 million copies of the series have been sold worldwide.
