Since it launched its first content in 1979 with Gundam Mobile Suit, the Gundam universe has been busy creating new and exciting stories for its fans. The most recent of those stories will come in the form of the Gundam world’s first female lead character. Today, the franchise took to its Twitter account to release a teaser video and poster of what will be. the mercury witch. Although little is known about the story the new series will tell, with a release date set for October alongside today’s teaser, more information is sure to be on the way.

Set to the incredible music the show is known for, we see the historical female lead take front and center standing in front of the giant Gundam she will be piloting. Looking ready to take on the task at hand, her red hair blows in the wind just before the robot charges, filling with color and coming to life. Like the trailer, the poster the mercury witch, doesn’t give us much to shoot. With the robot kneeling behind the main character, it serves as another reminder of just how giant this piece of technology is.

It’s been quite a while since we got into the world of the anime franchise, with the latest series, Iron blooded orphans Taking its bow in 2017, the arrival of the latest Gundam generates a high level of excitement. While, as we mentioned, not much is known about the plot of the latest addition or the characters that will complete his story, it is likely that due to the innovative main character, we will hear more about him as the days go by. With so many ways to enjoy the world of Gundam, it’s no wonder it’s been so great. And now, with the franchise coming through the mercury witch And by giving voice to a female character to tell her own story, things are going to be better than ever.
