8 Anasui’s gender change was not an attempt to balance the cast of Stone Ocean

It is not clear where this theory started, but it is one of the most common misconceptions about jojo’s bizarre adventure. Fans believe that Araki changed Anasui’s gender from female to male to “balance” the primarily female cast of stone ocean. However, this is incorrect. While she was presented as female, Araki changed her gender as a design choice.

Design inconsistencies and changes are not uncommon in jojo’s, but this one was certainly more drastic than the other cases. At Lucca Comics and Games in 2019, Araki stated that he wanted an androgynous character that could transcend the standard definition of gender. Thus, Anasui’s current appearance was created. Also, the design change had nothing to do with Anasui being Jolyne’s love interest, which is another unsubstantiated rumor.

7 The Made In Heaven Reboot Didn’t Create The Steel Ball Run Universe

Enrico Pucci is the main antagonist of Stone Ocean.

at the end of stone ocean, Enrico Pucci reset the universe with his Stand, Made in Heaven. After the Stand works magic on him, time begins to move faster throughout the universe. However, the living cannot move fast enough to reach this accelerated time, except for Pucci. After a while, time will speed up to a universal “vanishing point”, creating a new universe in which everything from the original timeline fatefully repeats itself. On stone oceanresulted in the “Ireneverse”.

It is a common misconception in the fandom that the Ireneverse and the steel ball race universe are the same. However, they do not correlate. Made in Heaven can’t change history, so the SBR-verse could not have replaced the events of Parts 1-5 in the new universe. The Pucci reboot only erased Part 6 from the timeline because Pucci would never have existed. SBR and jojolion They take place in their own universe.

6 Polnareff did not turn into a turtle in Vento Aureo

at the end of golden wind, Polnareff discovered that piercing a Stand with the arrow creates Requiem Stands. When he stabbed Silver Chariot with the arrow, the Requiem edition of the Stand was born. Silver Chariot Requiem protects the arrow by swapping people’s souls into new bodies to confuse the masses, causing chaos so no one else can touch the arrow.

As a result, Polnareff’s soul transferred into Coco Jumbo’s body. Since Polnareff’s soul never passed into the afterlife, she permanently resided in the turtle’s body as a ghost. So, contrary to popular belief, Polnareff never turned into the tortoise after death. Instead, Polnareff’s soul is trapped inside the turtle.

5 There are no canonical color schemes, with a few exceptions

jojo’s bizarre adventure is known for his vivid color schemes and quirky styled characters. It’s a common misconception that manga color schemes are canon. However, there are no canon color schemes in the series, minus some details like DIO’s hair color. Other than that, all colors are subject to change.

Shueisha handles the coloring of the manga and Araki doesn’t have much information about that process. David Production simply references the manga and picks the palettes they think will look the best for the anime. They also take some information from Araki. Looking at manga covers illustrated by Araki, it can be seen that there are no consistent color palettes for any of the characters.

4 Kakyoin Hierophant Green cannot attack by painting

kakyoin in jojo

One of the most common misconceptions in the fandom is that Noriaki Kakyoin’s Stand, Hierophant Green, attacked Jotaro with the stroke of a brush. This was never seen again in Part 3, leading fans to cite it as another “Araki forgot!” moment. Actually, Kakyoin was never able to attack by painting. The red paint trim on Jotaro’s portrait was for dramatic purposes only.

Hierophant Green is a long distance Stand. It can unravel and stretch over long distances at Kakyoin’s command. You can make Hierophant’s strings visible or go for a sneakier attack with invisible strings. While it is unclear how exactly Jotaro’s leg was severed, the most reasonable guess would be that Hierophant unraveled an invisible rope to sever his leg.

3 Fugo was not eliminated because his stand was “too powerful”

Fugo and Purple Haze

One of the most widespread falsehoods about the golden wind is that Pannacotta Fugo was cut from the story because Purple Haze was disproportionately powerful compared to the rest of the characters’ Stands. While Purple Haze is strong, it is nearly unusable due to its volatile nature. Even Fugo is afraid to use this Stand, so it is set as an unreliable last resort. Therefore, Fugo was not eliminated by the power of his Stand.

Araki initially intended for Fugo to become a traitor to the gang, and Giorno was supposed to kill him. However, Araki decided that it would have been a drastically depressing twist, so he decided against it. Basically, he always intended for Fugo to be eliminated, but not because of his powerful Stand.

two The fandom seriously mischaracterizes Jotaro Kujo

One of the most controversial characters in jojo’s bizarre adventure it is the same Jotaro Kujo. Although he is the main character of the series, Jotaro is quite polarizing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of him, but some blatant mischaracterizations spread throughout the fandom and caused unnecessary controversy. While some fans claim that he is the weakest jojo’s protagonist, others express disdain for his personality, citing his misogynistic and generally obnoxious attitude.

While he expresses disdain for “annoying girls”, he expresses the same disrespect towards the men in the series, even towards his own grandfather. With the way some of the women on the show behave towards him, it’s understandable why she would be annoyed by his constant flirting and groupie behavior. Not to mention that the only reason he undertook his dangerous quest to defeat DIO was to save his mother, whom he loves very much.

Also, Jotaro has grown tremendously throughout the series. He has had a prominent role in the series that spans 23 years of his life, from his formative teen years as a criminal to adulthood as a marine biologist and father.

1 Araki probably didn’t “forget”

Araki illustrates Jojo's characters

It’s a pretty prominent meme throughout the fandom to point out plot holes or inconsistencies and say “Araki forgot!” While the meme is hilarious, it’s fake for the most part. Actually, he didn’t forget certain things, considering all the callbacks to older parts in the new universe.

If Araki gets bored with the development of a story, he will discard plot points and change them without explanation. Other times, Araki realizes that he wrote something that wouldn’t necessarily be conducive to the story later, so he acts like he never existed. Of course, he has admitted that he has a bad memory in the author’s notes. However, considering how Araki’s art style can look drastically different from the beginning of a part to the end, it’s much more likely that he will change the story as he writes it.
