Netflix has just announced one more title for its growing library of original anime series. Do you have launch plans? Tekken: bloodline later this year and revealed the series with a minute and a half “official teaser” trailer. There is no exact date or mention of the number of episodes, but the summary reveals that it will focus on Jin Kazama, who joined the series as a character in Tekken 3.
Unlike other game franchises of the late ’90s with sales of over 50 million copies, the Tekken series has only had a few attempts to translate the story for film or television. Those attempts managed to include a completely forgettable 2010 live-action film that is most notable for being one of only 43 films on Rotten Tomatoes to earn a zero percent rating based on reviews from critics. At one point, Tekken games producer/director Katsuhiro Harada tweeted that it was terrible, saying, “We couldn’t supervise that movie; It was a cruel contract. I’m not interested in that movie.”
The conditions surrounding this adaptation may be better, since Harada invited fans to watch the new trailer. Yes Tekken: bloodline After the games, the show will tie together the King of Iron Fist Tournament which includes control of a powerful corporation as the prize, the inter-generational power struggle of the Mishima family running the corporation and the tournament, and the supernatural/nature powers corruptor of the Devil Gene mutation shared by Heihachi Mishima (who also appears in the trailer), his son Kazuya Mishima, and Kazuya’s son Jin Kazama.
Jin’s mother, Jun Kazama, was also a character in the games, and the trailer appears to show her training him when they are attacked by another boss from the games, the monstrous Ogre. These events will see you enter the tournament full of familiar faces, faces that may or may not wear jaguar skins all the time, and glimpses during the trailer show at least some of the characters we can expect to see appear.

His League of Legendsanime series based on Arcane received a rave review here (even if it’s dota 2-anime linked Dragon blood did not), while The Wizard The live-action TV show has done well enough to earn a third season, a second anime film, and the next children’s show. A live-action adaptation of One piece began production earlier this year, and Netflix also has anime adaptations of Scott Pilgrim and the Terminator series in the works.
