Overwatch cosplayer takes to the skies as the enchanting Witch Mercy

Mercy from Overwatch has a whole wardrobe of fan-favorite skins, but her Halloween Horror Witch skin is one of her most iconic, and this cosplayer has brought it to life to celebrate the Remix events.

Starting in 2022, Blizzard announced that Overwatch’s classic event schedule would receive a colorful shake-up with the new Remix events.

By transforming some of the game’s most iconic cosmetics into ivory versions of themselves, players will be able to outfit their heroes (or villains) in a fresh yet familiar new look.

Among these is a white and blue version of Mercy’s classic Halloween horror witch look; a look so iconic that even the character’s voice actress, Lucie Pohl, has brought it to life. Channeling Lucie, American cosplayer carnivorous_sheep has transformed into the magical alter ego of the Swiss prop in an outfit that will leave you stargazing.

Trading in her flight medic suit for a magical broomstick, Witch Mercy is one of the most popular skins in Overwatch.

Overwatch Witch Mercy Cosplay Is Absolutely Stunning

She decided to transform into the cheeky sorceress because “I love the game and have been cosplaying Overwatch for the past two years”, she created this cosplay for “Youmacon in 2021”.

Taking the witch stand for a spin, he told Dexerto, “I’ve built Mercy cosplays a few times, so the build itself was pretty easy for me.

“The hardest part would definitely have been the bodice. I always have a hard time sewing things and the top part is sooo specific! His bolero piece and his tie are actually all attached with magnetic snaps, because I couldn’t find a good stitch to make it look the way I wanted it to.”

In the end, though, she outdid the bodice and created an absolutely stunning look. Dark chocolate-colored leather adheres tightly to her torso, accented with a deep Halloween orange. Her golden hair frames her face, topped by a tattered witch’s hat. With her Book of Shadows at her side and perfectly tailored wings ready to propel her into the skies, Sheep perfectly embodies the mystery that Witch Mercy exudes.

“I made her cane out of an old wooden broom with some molded foam clay on top to help create the ‘wood notches’ that Mercy has, and then placed foam pieces for the blades on top. I used a wood-burning tool to etch the marks into each piece of foam, layering thinner craft foam for fine detail,” she recalls.

“Her wings are made entirely of EVA foam sandwiched around two pieces of PVC pipe, with fairy lights glued inside to give a soft orange glow. I ended up hand painting the wings just to make sure the color of the wing blades matched the rest of her outfit. ”

If this interpretation of the Swiss spell caster has you enchanted; don’t worry! There’s a whole collection of other Overwatch cosplays that Sheep wants to try out. “I already have plans this year to feature Poolside Ashe and Lifeguard Mercy at Colossalcon, and this fall I’m building Pharah’s armor!”

As Sheep continues to invent and cosplay in her lair, we can’t wait to see her strut her stuff as Ashe and Pharah. Until then, though, we’re under her spell.
