DC Comics’ Punchline is a relatively new addition to the Batman mythos, and in an incredible cosplay of the character, she enters the Snyderverse!
In DC Comics, Joker’s girlfriend, End lineis a deranged Batman villain who has become a surprise hit with fans, and now in a new cosplay of the character, she has finally entered the snyderverse! Zack Snyder may be a controversial filmmaker when it comes to putting DC properties on the big screen, but there’s no denying that he has a mature look unique to the various heroes and villains that populate his world.
Brought to life by cosplayer Lis Wonder (@lis.wonder), a quick scroll through her Instagram account shows that it’s packed with wildly clever and on-point recreations of some of the best and most memorable characters in comics. Having brought to life the queen Mera of Aquaman fame, the next DCEU version of Supergirl, the batmanCatwoman’s Catwoman, comically accurate Nightwing, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and many more, Punchline is the next addition to Lis Wonder’s ever-growing repertoire of cosplay achievements.
Created by writer James Tynion IV and Jorge Jiménez in 2020 in the lead up to the epic event called joker’s war, Punchline, aka Alexis Kaye, was a huge hit with fans from the start. Replacing Harley Quinn as Joker’s main squeeze after Harley took it upon herself to get out of their toxic relationship after years of abuse, Punchline was painted almost as an equal to Joker in that her sadistic and manipulative nature was always at the forefront. front and center for everyone. to see. And now, with Lis Wonder bringing her to life with a touch of the Snyderverse, it’s clear that Punchline would work well within the confines of the live-action Snyder cinematic universe.
Photographed in all her devilish, mischievous glory, this cosplay sees Lis made up to look nearly identical to how the Punchline character is depicted in the comics. Design-inspired by Jorge Jimenez, Lis perfectly replicates Punchline’s clown makeup, colored-streaked hair, and overall killer feel of a character who can give the Joker a run for his money at a moment’s notice. Decked out in an orange jumpsuit complete with a white shirt that reads “Burn after wearing,” Lis Wonder’s caption tells fans that she “had to wear Yesterday’s outfit,” referring to the outfit the director from prison David Ayer used for the first concert. action appearance of Harley Quinn in the Snyderverse film titled suicide squad.
Officially bringing Punchline into the Snyderverse with this callback to Ayer, Lis even gets the lighting and color palette of Snyder’s dark and drab look right when placed in the context of a prison cell. Combine this look with the handful of other Punchline posts that Lis has uploaded before and after this particular one, and it’s clear that she has a handle on the character in a way that it would behoove any filmmaker to reference when looking to bring in the Punchline character. to stage. DCEU.
So while Zack Snyder and his cinematic universe seem to be being sidelined even more (if rumors of what’s going to happen in the next The flash movie are true, that is), Lis Wonder giving fans a Punchline cosplay based on Snyder’s aesthetic is a treat no matter how you slice it. End line may never have the opportunity to truly become part of the snyderversebut it’s nice to know that she would fit right in if that day ever came.
