The great success of CloverWorks, My dear in disguise, released a new piece of art to celebrate the final episode of its first season.
My dear in disguise recently aired the finale of its 12-episode first season. The new artwork was shared on the anime’s official Twitter account and showed Marin Kitagawa and Wakana Gojo surrounded by the amazing cosplays they’ve created throughout the anime. the course My dear in disguise Shinichi Fukuda’s manga series was first published in Square Enix’s young gangan in January 2018 and now consists of nine volumes as of March 2022. The story follows high school students Gojo, who has an intense passion for creating hina dolls, and Kitagawa, who has a deep love for video games and the anime. Combining her sewing skills and her tenacity, the two work together to pursue their dream of cosplaying.
Currently, there are more than five million copies of the My dear in disguise manga series in circulation around the world, a number that is due in part to the popularity of its recent anime adaptation, which is directed by Keisuke Shinohara (my little witch academia) and written by Yoriko Tomita (BUILD-DIVIDE -#000000- CODE BLACK). Aniplex, the production company that helped produce the series, further clarified that 1.5 million copies have been sold since the anime premiered on January 9. Fans have not only shown their love for My dear in disguise buying manga volumes; they have also adopted the cosplay aspect of the story and created their own versions of Kitagawa’s costumes.
Both the manga and anime series have been praised for their accurate portrayal of cosplay and the struggles of real-life cosplayers. This includes the time and effort that goes into creating a costume, as well as the difficulty of wearing a cosplay for an extended period of time. My dear in disguise he has also been praised by fans for subverting traditional gender roles and expectations with Gojo’s interest in fashion and Kitagawa’s passion for video games and anime. As Kitagawa says in “Do you want to hurry up and do it?”, the second episode of season 1, “Does it matter if you’re a boy or a girl when you really like something?”
