Understand why Sanemi is perceived as a bad character in Murderer of demons

The main reason Sanemi was perceived as a bad character despite being a Hashira was because of the fact that he stabbed Nezuko. Sanemi didn’t really know the circumstances, and when we analyze his past, his actions would make a lot more sense.

Sanemi had six siblings, including Genya, with an abusive father. Her mother would constantly intervene and even get hurt during the process. One night, a creature entered her house and killed five of the seven children, and Genya barely escaped. She was dark and could hardly see anything. In an attempt to save her brother, Sanemi took the creature out of her house and killed it. Later, Genya found out that she was her own mother, but she didn’t realize that she had become a demon and blamed Sanemi for her death.

Sanemi left the house and started killing other demons after realizing that her blood was special. Her high quality Marechi blood had the uncanny ability to intoxicate demons with the scent of her. Soon, she met a member of the Demon Slayer Corps and honed her swordsmanship to be better equipped to slay demons. That same member, a close friend of Sanemi’s, sadly met her demise before a lower moon demon, leaving Sanemi grieving once again.

Accept a life without love and constant isolation. If it means that he will be able to protect those he loves, he will bear any burden regardless of his own well-being. He himself affirms that his life is not to be enjoyed.

This might be why he reacted so hostilely when a demon was brought into the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. Unfortunately, however, he even lost his younger brother during the fight against Kokushibo and his true feelings are shown in the series. He loved Genya very much and gave everything he had to save him.

Despite the generally negative opinion of the character, the Wind Hashira, Sanemi, is considered one of the most powerful Pillars and displayed his prodigious ability against numerous demons. The community’s perspective will certainly change as the series continues to adapt subsequent arcs.
